Human Body Detection is now available on both 2MP and 8MP Noctis Pro turrets!
In todays blog we walk you through how to upgrade the firmware of your Noctis Pro turret cameras and enabling the new Human Body Detection.
Upgrading your 2MP turrets
Unlike the 8MP that can be upgraded from the cloud direct from either the NVR or the camera itself, the 2MP variant requires a manual upgrade (cloud upgrade coming soon). Available on the NP-C-T2E30-28 and NP-C-T2E30-28-B and can be downloaded from HERE.
Once downloaded there is a few ways to upgrade the firmware of your 2MP Turrets.
If the camera is on the LAN, the quickest and easiest is from Noctis Tools. Downloadable from HERE.
If the camera is plugged into the NVR directly, you'll need to upgrade from there. More on this process below.
How To Upgrade Firmware using Noctis Tools
Open Noctis Tools, and confirm you can see the camera on the network.
Navigate to the 'Upgrade' tab on the left, select the camera and click 'Upgrade' in the bottom right.
You will then be asked to log into the camera.
Once you've logged in, double check you've selected the right camera.
Click the folder icon and locate the firmware you downloaded ealier, select and click 'Open'. NOTE: Upgrading firmware to the wrong camera may cause damage.
After clicking 'OK' you will be asked for confirm the firmware upgrade.
The firmware will now be pushed to the camera.
Once the firmware was successfully been updated the camera will reboot. You can now login to the camera and enable the new Human Body Detection. More on this below!
How To Upgrade Firmware from the the NVR Web View.
Open Internet Explorer, make sure you run it as administrator. Type in the IP address of the NVR and login.
Navigate to Setup > Camera > Camera
Click onto the 'Advanced' tab
To upgrade a 2MP turret, select the camera and click browse, navigate to where you saved the firmware download.
Click upgrade, once complete the camera will reboot.
To upgrade an 8MP turret from the cloud, select the camera and click 'Check New Version'
Once the new firmware is found, click the cloud icon on the right, the firmware will then be downloaded and pushed to the camera. Once updated the camera will reboot.
After the update you will now have the Human Body Detection available!
How to enable Human Body Detection from the NVR
Navigate to Setup > Camera > Human Body Detection
Select the camera from the drop down, turn on Human Body Detection, draw the area of interest, adjust the sensitivty as required and click 'Save'.
Don't forget to setup your Arming Schedule and Trigger Actions!
How to enable Human Body Detection from the Camera
If the camera is on the network you can access the camera directly from the IP. If the camera is plugged into the PoE ports you can access the camera from the link under Setup > Camera.
Once logged into the camera navigate to Setup > Intelligent > Human Body Detection
From here we can setup detection area, and adjust the sensitivity.
Once saved, time to give it a quick test.
NOTE: On the 2MP models, there is a visual trigger box as seen above. On the 8MP, this box doesn't appear however the human body detection still works and triggers as expected.
