Whether you are an installer of TV/Satellite, Audio/Video or CCTV you will have come across HDMI connections.
HDMI is pretty much the standard connection required to get your High Definition signal from source to screen and since it’s launch the customer’s requirements have pushed the technology to improve the way that HDMI is distributed.
One of the limitations of HDMI has always been the distance in which the signal can transmit over cable. HDMI 1.4 cables are generally limited to 15m in length for 720P/1080P signals and to distribute the HD sources extra equipment is required. Massively popular products are now available such as HDMI over CAT5e/6 cable extenders and these types of products have improved massively over the last few years with EDID and IR support aswell as POE support.
