TAILOR MADE FOR INSTALLERS
At Mast Digital (UK) we stock a broad range of installer-friendly equipment designed to meet the needs of various applications, from residential projects to enterprise-level solutions. We firmly believe that networking is the future, becoming the backbone of every technological industry and innovation. Whatever your installation requirements, we have the right solution to support your success.
RESIDENTIAL
With the growing demand for fast reliable WiFi, many homeowners are opting to have dedicated Access Points installed in their property. In the past, when the number of connected devices and data rates were much lower, it was possible to get away with relying on just a WiFi router. Unfortunately, this simply isn’t the case anymore, especially in larger properties or those with a layout/composition that makes WiFi transmission challenging. The benefit of a dedicated Access Point is not just broader, faster coverage – by offloading the management of clients, it takes pressure off the Router.
SMB
When looking at Networks within small medium businesses, requirements are obviously significantly higher than in your standard residential. Many more devices, higher bandwidth needs, diversity of equipment, cybersecurity and the ability to remotely manage are all considerations to be taken into account. From the router to the access point, each piece of equipment needs to be up to spec so as not to cause bottlenecks or throttling. Further, reliability and uptime become much more critical than in a residential build – video buffering isn’t as impactful as a phone system going down, for example.
ENTERPRISE
The final boss of Networking so to speak, Enterprise level is required for large businesses and buildings. Usually with thousands of connected users, VPN capabilities for remote workers, very high levels of security, management and oversight. As with SMB Networks, reliability is most important – even more so in this case, due to the costs involved with companies of this scale. Cutting-edge technology, as well as a dedicated IT team, is typically required to achieve the desired results. Networks of this size need a high-level of knowledge to configure, install and maintain – not a job to be taken lightly.
MOBILE
Not all installs are created equally. In some instances, due to location or other factors, it is impractical to have a wired WAN connection. In such cases, a great option is to utilise a mobile network to provide Internet access. After a connection has been established, then a normal network can be configured from that point, allowing for incredible flexibilty and surprisingly good performance. Additionally, mobile networks are often used as a back-up redundancy option, should the main wired line go down. Meaning that Internet connectivity can be maintained until the primary WAN is reinstated.

FAQs
Q: How many Access Points do I need?
A: The answer will depend on a number of factors, such as coverage area, building layout and composition. If you're unsure, then call us up for a chat and we'll be happy to provide guidance.
On larger projects, site surveys and diagrams are available.
Q: Why is the existing ISP router not good enough?
A: Unfortunately, due to the high speeds required today and the nature of WiFi propagation in general, it simply isn't possible to provide adequate coverage from a single unit sitting in a random corner of the building. As technology moves forward, network standards are adapting - this is why dedicated WiFi is becoming near ubiquitous, even in residential properties.
Q: Do I need to install the newest, most expensive equipment?
A: Much like with the number of Access Points, this will always depend on the situation. Domestic properties typically don't require cutting edge equipment, just good reliable kit that will do the job. On the other hand, Enterprise Networks have critical functions that simply cannot afford delays or failures - and so the product quality must be of the highest level to ensure performance.
